-Mid-life update for the compact sedan
-exterior updates
-new petrol 1.2-litre engine
- SYNC3 infotainment system
- New steering wheel
A few days ago, we went into detail about an updated version of the Ford Aspire compact sedan. Besides that, leaked images from what appears to be a dealership put us right on the money in terms of what the car will get.
The exterior updates comprise a revised grille and new bumpers while the cabin gets a new steering wheel and most importantly the SYNC3 infotainment system. This is something that is important as the Aspire is the only car that didn’t offer a touchscreen infotainment system among the compact sedans.
The other major update for the Aspire will be the new 1.2-litre petrol engine that already debuted with the Freestyle hatchback crossover. It is good for 95bhp/120Nm and is offered with a five-speed manual. The diesel and AT options are expected to continue in the form of the 1.5-litre four-cylinder units.
We’ve looked heavily into the details of the car and you can read about that here. The Aspire facelift is expected to launch within the next few months and will take on the likes of the Hyundai Xcent, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Volkswagen Ameo and Honda Amaze.
