The Trend variants of the Ford Figo and Aspire now get anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) as a standard feature. This variant gets even safer as it was already equipped with dual airbags.
Earlier, it was only the high-end Titanium and Titanium+ trims that were equipped with ABS and EBD. Now with this update, it's only the Base and Ambiente variants that miss out on these features. These new features will be available on the upcoming new batch of vehicles. Ford hasn't announced any price revisions for the variants as of yet.
Ford's move is similar to what many automakers have recently done. Many manufacturers are either standardising safety features in their models or providing passive and active safety equipment. This is mainly because the Indian Government is planning to make airbags and ABS as a standard fitment in cars in the coming years. Recently, Volkswagen announced to offer ABS and airbags in every model that they sell.
