Force Motors has re-established its supremacy in the 2015 edition of the Rainforest Challenge India, by claiming the first two positions of the podium. This is the second time in as many years that the company’s factory team - Team Gurkha, scored a victory in the extreme off-road challenge, which was held in Goa from July 24 to July 31.
Winners of the top spot in RFC India 2014, Tan Eng Joo and Tan Choon Hong piloted the Gurkha number 101 to victory, while the Gurkha number 102 clinched the second position under the command of Mervyn Wei Shiong and his navigator Hamizan Bin Abdul Hamid. The third position of the challenge went to Kabir Waraich and his co-driver Yuvraj Tiwana of Gerrari Offroaders Chandigarh, who happen to be the highest placed Indian competitors in the challenge. By scoring the third position, Kabir has scored a free entry to the RFC Mother Event which will be held in Malaysia, later this year.
Speaking about their victory, Tan said, “This year the contest was more demanding, with tougher courses and harsher challenges. I am glad that we could complete these stages despite having some minor setbacks along the way. Thanks to my navigator Tan Choon and the support team.”
