Force Motors’ new MPV vehicle has been spied testing in Bangalore. The new MPV from the Pune based utility maker is rumoured to be a re-badged version of the Mercedes-Benz Vito. The Vito is basically a commercial van in European market, but a couple of variants are sold in passenger car segment.
Force Motors has confirmed that they will be launching a new premium MPV in India this fiscal year. It is likely that this model will be rebadged version of the Vito. We expect the new model to be powered by the same Mercedes-Benz 2.2-litre FMTECH diesel engine that is used in the Force One. It is one of the most refined diesel engines in the segment and pumps out 140PS of max power. Force may also launch a BSIII for rural markets churning out 82PS and 230Nmfrom 2.6-litre diesel engine.
The prices of the MPV will be notch lower than that of the Toyota Innova and it will direct compete with the Mahindra Xylo, Nissan Evalia and Chevrolet Enjoy. Force may also export the new model to few African countries.
