The Sahara Force India F1 team have announced that they will unveil their 2013 challenger, likely to be called the VJM06, at the Silverstone circuit on February 1, a few days before the all-team test at the Jerez circuit. One of the few teams to be still based in the ‘motorsports district’ of the UK, Force India will continue to use Mercedes-Benz engines for the 2013 season.
The team are yet to announce their 2013 driver line up but it is likely that Paul di Resta who has been with the team for the last two seasons will retain one of the seats. However, the second seat, which was vacated by the Sauber-bound Nico Hulkenberg, is currently open.
It is believed that former Force India man Adrian Sutil, reserve driver Jules Bianchi and 2012 Torro Rosso drivers Sebastian Buemi and Jamie Alguersuari are all in contention for the seat.
Force India Mercedes, as they are officially known, finished seventh in the 2012 F1 constructors championship with 109 points. Nico Hulkenberg scored 63 points and placed 11th in the championship while Paul di Resta scored 46 points and placed 14th in the championship.
