The Himalayan Odyssey is one of the one of the most prestigious event held in India. In its seventh edition, it brings together bikers from all around the country, who not only relish the opportunity to ride in this event but also those who have a thirst and hunger for adventure.
We closely follow this Odyssey as it crosses through terrains and climates that will challenge the riders not only physically but mentally as well. Our rider (Tanmay) would be giving us details about his experience and will try his level best to give information with regards to the challenges of the entire ride and of course the joyride in which he has engaged himself in. We bring to you a daily account of this trip.
Day 0
I reached Delhi and head off straight to the accommodation in a rickshaw. It is already hot and it is quiet obvious that the rain has not been of any help here. I drop my bags at the accommodation and head off to the railway station to pick up my bike. After a lengthy procedure of filling in forms, understanding the jargon, signing every document and once everything is in place a little bakshish, which is quiet bluntly asked for, I head back to the accommodation on my bike. As I was one of early ones to arrive, they suggested I complete my bike papers, riding gears and bike scrutiny done. Finished all that by evening and now off for a well deserved rest.
