The soon-to-be-launched in India five-door Mini has been launched in Malaysia for 238,888 RM (Rs 44.03 lakh). The car had been previously teased in Malaysia’s capital Kula Lumpur on the back of a display vehicle and will be in showrooms by the weekend.
The 2014 Mini was unveiled in the UK last year and is currently on sale in most European markets. It uses a slightly re-designed version of the BMW- penned model that was introduced in 1998 and then reworked on in 2006. It gets updated interior as compared to the previous model but with added features and some new technology courtesy of parent company BMW.
The Malaysian- spec five-door Mini Cooper S is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo motor that produces 192bhp and 280Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed AT. The Malaysian market already has the standard three-door Mini which was launched there earlier this year.
We in India will get the three-door and five-door Mini on the November 19 and believe that it will be in the same form as the Malaysian market.
