Ford has announced that the updated versions of some smartphone apps can now link to their SYNC AppLink that’s available on the entire Ford India vehicle portfolio that includes the Figo, Figo Aspire, EcoSport, Endeavour and the Mustang. Here’s the run down.
Hungama Drive
Streaming on the run has become one of the most popular ways to listen to music but smartphones can contribute to driver distraction. With Hungama Drive and SYNC AppLink, Ford owners can stream music through the updated version of the app which will allow users to play their favourite music via simple voice commands. Hungama Drive will be available for Ford owners starting mid-June.
Inshorts
With the increase in hours of commuting, staying up to date with the latest news is always a priority. The updated version of the Inshorts app will allow it to integrate to Ford’s SYNC AppLink in such a manner that the Inshorts app will read news in an easy to comprehend format. Ford owners simply have to use voice commands to get their customized news feed.
MapMyIndia
The Maps app by MapMyIndia helps Ford owners to locate and navigate to specific locations, fuel filling stations, hotels and other points of interest. To minimize distractions, the app helps in navigating to any destination using verbally communicated driving directions. This helps prevent drivers from looking at their smartphone while driving.
AccuWeather
is a well-known source of weather forecasts and is now available with Ford’s SYNC AppLink. AccuWeather provides accurate local weather information and updates, including daily high and low temperatures, five-day forecast and more, ensuring users are prepared and safe for changing weather conditions on their journeys.
PParkE
Finding a place to park is a huge concern nowadays and the parking app called PParkE now links to the SYNC AppLink. This app enables Ford users to not just identify the closest parking lot, but also provides the full address, distance from the current location, the number of parking spots available and the price for parking there.
