The second teaser for the Fittipaldi EF7 Vision Gran Turismo by Pininfarina is here ahead of the car’s official release. The supercar will make its first appearance at the forthcoming 2017 Geneva Motor Show as a production-ready prototype. Further details of the supercar have been divulged by the carmaker and it looks promising.
First up, the EF7 Vision Gran Tourismo will be powered by a naturally-aspirated V8 pushing out over 592bhp. The engine and gearbox are unique to Fittipaldi Motors and will be integrated lower in the car to create a low centre of gravity. The car will make use of a carbon fibre monocoque chassis with carbon fibre bodywork and will weigh just around 1,000kg. According to Emerson Fittipaldi, “the owner-drivers of the EF7 can expect reliability, lower maintenance cost and minimal mechanic and tech teams from the supercar - which means more time on the track.” The supercar also promises to be forgiving and safe for drivers of all skill levels, unlike many other hardcore supercars.
The two-time F1 and Indi 500 Champion Emerson Fittipaldi is the brainchild behind the EF7 backed by the Mercedes-AMG’s motorsport specialist, HWA, and Italian design house Pininfarina taking care of the design work. In the new teaser, we can see the EF7’s outrageous carbon fibre splitters incorporating a sleek LED strip for headlamps and large aero vents.
The EF7 supercar will be produced in limited numbers; but for the rest of us, it will be available to drive virtually in the Gran Turismo video game franchise on the Sony PlayStation. We could see the EF7 Vision Gran Turismo by Pininfarina in all its glory at the Geneva stage next month. Stay tuned to CarWale for all the news from the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
