- To arrive in second half of 2021.
- The teaser reveals a muscular design and will cost less than 40,000 USD.
Henrik Fisker has dropped a design sketch teaser for an all-electric SUV which is arriving in 2021. After the EMotion sedan, the SUV will be the second ambitious product from Henrik’s newly formed company called the Fisker Inc.
The teaser for Fisker’s SUV ensures the reveal of Tesla Model Y. And the designer turned carmaker assures us in the teaser that the new unnamed SUV from Fisker Inc. will carry a price tag under 40,000 USD. This means the SUV will be eyeing the Model Y with its 80kWh battery pack, 4WD powertrain and proposed electric range of 300 miles (450kilometres).
The teaser reveals only the front end of the SUV in an early design sketch with sleek LED headlamps, massive grille placed near the bumpers (for brakes and air conditioning) and flared wheel arches. It looks nothing like the sensuous EMotion electric sedan but is a lot better looking than the modern crop of electric SUVs.
The new Fisker SUV will go up against the new age electric SUV in the segment which is rapidly getting populated. It will need to compete with well-established players such Jaguar I-Pace, Audi e-tron, Tesla Model Y, Mercedes-Benz EQC and the upcoming BMW iNEXT, apart from upcoming electric SUVs from Volkswagen Group and other American carmakers.
