When Ford unveiled and subsequently launched the 2015 Mustang, it announced that the iconic sports car which had just entered its Golden Jubilee year would be integrated into the One Ford Programme. This significant piece of information meant that for the first time, the car would be properly manufactured and exported to RHD markets which had previously got the car via a local conversion (Japan) or in small numbers (Australia).
Now for the first time since the announcement, Ford has officially released a photo of the first RHD Mustang to leave the assembly line and much to everyone’s surprise it is the iconic top of the line 5.0-litre V8 engined version.
This sixth generation Mustang has been destined for around 25 RHD countries (excluding India sadly) and will most probably will be offered with the 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine, 3.0-litre V6 petrol and obviously the 5.0-litre V8.
It will go on sale in major LHD markets by the beginning of next year and will then be exported to the various RHD markets by the middle of next year.
