Volvo has revealed the first images of the R-Design version of the all new XC90. Aimed at buyers looking for a performance-focussed full-size SUV, the XC90 R-Design will go on sale with the entire new XC90 range.
The XC90 R-Design features a sportier design complete with the new grille, bigger air intakes, 20-inch alloy wheels and chrome exhaust pipes. Inside, the cabin gets a drive-centric interior featuring R-Design contour sports seats in perforated leather. The leather bits are accompanied by R-Design details, such as sports seats, pedals, floor mats and illuminated tread plates.
As for the engine and gearbox, Volvo hasn’t revealed much apart from the fact that the XC90 R-Design will be offered with a choice of Drive-E powertrains offering up to 400bhp of power.
The XC90 R-Design is not the only special edition version of Volvo’s latest full-size SUV. The Swedish automaker, in fact, recently launched 1,927 units of the black First Edition of the XC90 which were sold out in 47 hours.
