Ahead of Tesla’s official entry in India, the first right hand drive version of the Model X has arrived in the country. The all-electric luxury SUV is a private import reportedly by a Mumbai-based company. It is believed that the vehicle is the base P75D variant with a 75kWh battery pack. The vehicle shares its underpinnings with the Model S.
Tesla Model X is powered by two electric motors which are mounted on each axle. The base variant generates 259bhp of power which is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in 4.9 seconds. The P75D has a driving range of 381kms. The international market also gets the higher P100D variant which has a driving range of 474kms on sedate driving and its top speed has been electronically restricted to 250kmph. The vehicle is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in 4.7 seconds. The Indian spec Tesla Model X is unlikely to be offered with a self-drive feature.
In terms of features, the Tesla Model X gets LED headlights with cornering lights, air suspension with GPS, large touchscreen infotainment systems and Bluetooth wireless technology. The all-electric SUV is available in five, six and seven-seat configuration options. Moreover, the vehicle constantly receives over-the-air updates and an all-wheel drive system. To be introduced in India via the CBU route, the Model X is expected to be priced well over Rs 1 crore.
