Acura took its own sweet time to come up with the all-new 2017 NSX. While this much-awaited sports car is now just a few weeks away from being launched globally, getting hold of the first-ever example is going to be a little difficult. We say difficult because the first production model with VIN number 001 has been sold for a whopping $ 1.2 million.
However, we would like to add that the car number one was sold at an auction house in Scottsdale, Arizona. Also, the money fetched by this particular NSX is for a good cause as it will be directed towards the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground.
The winning bidder, meanwhile, is a certain Rick Hendrick who previously managed to buy the first 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Coupe, first 2012 Camaro ZL1 and the last ever BMW M5 “30 Jahre”.
As a reminder, the 2017 Acura NSX is the much-awaited successor to the iconic original model. This new model develops 573bhp from its petrol V6-electric hybrid set up and hits 0-100kmph in around three seconds and maxes out at 307kmph.
