Fiat has unveiled a new concept car called the Urban Cross. It is based on the Avventura compact crossover but gets some new styling elements to differentiate it from the latter. It appears to be production ready and is likely to be launched towards the end of 2016.
In terms of styling elements, the Urban Cross has the same face as the Avventura but gets a new chrome-laced grille and LED DRLs which we suspect may not make it to the production version.
The side profile too is similar to that of the Punto Evo and Avventura save for the design of the alloy wheels which are 17-inch units. The rear loses out on the extra section that held the spare wheel on the Avventura but otherwise looks quite good.
The cabin has the same elements found in most Fiat cabins but with the addition of a touchscreen infotainment system and some sporty design and decals to signify the sporty nature of the vehicle. The Urban Cross when launched is expected to rival vehicles like the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV100.
