It’s finding the finer details that result in some of the most satisfying experiences or even the discovery of something new. Well, these lines could well apply to an automotive portal which, by looking at a mobile application for the Auto Expo 2014, discovered that Fiat will be launching the new Abarth Punto at the event.
The app contains a description of Fiat and in it reveals their plans for launching the Abarth Punto at the upcoming Auto Expo. The app also reveals Fiat’s original plans of launching the Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler before the Auto Expo. But now the three will be sharing the limelight at the event now.
The coming of the Abarth Punto is not a well-kept secret, as test mules of the car have been spotted many times in the country. Contrary to earlier speculations, the car will come to India as a CBU and then eventually we hope to see it being locally assembled at its Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra. We also expect that in the future we might see a four-door version of the Abarth Punto with a smaller engine.
The Abarth Punto will also get better alloy-wheels, body kit and other cosmetic upgrades, along with Abarth’s logo in place of Fiat to differentiate it from the standard model. The performance version will be sold through Abarth studios which, for now, will be part of the Fiat showrooms.
The Abarth Punto has little to look at in terms of competiton as it will be in a niche of its own.
