Fiat will showcase the Jeep range of vehicles at the 2016 Auto Expo and most probably also launch the cars around the same time. This was announced today by Kevin Flynn, CEO Fiat India, during a conversation on the radio, in Mumbai.
The iconic American SUV maker is expected to showcase the latest iterations of the Cherokee, Wrangler as well as the Renegade. We believe that the first two will be their main focus while the latter is expected to hit the Indian roads in 2017.
Fiat had announced in late 2012 its plans to bring a large number of its foreign brands to the Indian market. This included Abarth, Jeep, as well as Mopar. However, nothing materialised for more than a year and then towards the end of last year, they announced plans to launch the Abarth brand of cars. The first car was Abarth 595 while the Abarth Punto will be launched on October 19. The arrival of the Jeep brand is the second part of their launch plans.
