The Fiat Punto facelift was caught on test again, this time, with a different set of alloy wheels. The refreshed car will be the first major makeover for the hatchback in India, as previously only minor changes like change in alloy wheel designs and addition of new colour options were introduced.
The car has been spied previously with another set of alloy wheels. The revamped Punto is expected to receive the Avventura’s headlights. The car will most likely sport redone front and rear bumpers. Inside the cabin, the interiors will be comprehensively revamped and will look identical to that of the 2014 Linea.
We do not expect to see any mechanical changes, meaning it gets the same engine options as the current car. Presently, two petrol engines- a 1.2-litre and a 1.4-litre are being offered. The oil-burner Punto is powered by Fiat’s 1.3-liter Multijet mill. All these engine options come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Fiat will most likely launch the Punto facelift in the Indian market in the second half of this year. Apart from the Punto, Fiat India will also bring the Abarth 500 and the Punto-based Avventura crossover this year. The Punto will go head to head with the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Volkswagen Polo and the Hyundai i20.
