Fiat India will launch a T-Jet powered Punto Evo hatchback in a couple of months and the car was spotted in a camouflaged avatar recently. Though there are not many changes to the exterior, the car will get a powerful engine.
The Fiat Punto Evo is currently available in both petrol and diesel engine options, but the power output is less than 100bhp. The T-jet version that will be soon introduced comes powered by the same 1.4-litre T-jet mill from the Linea, but will be tuned to generate 135bhp of power, courtesy - a turbocharger. This mill will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
In terms of appearance, this T-jet version of the Punto Evo will be similar to the model launched last year. There won’t be any major cosmetic changes, apart from the T-jet badging and a few tweaks to differentiate it from the standard model. We do not expect any major changes in the cabin, but the company might offer different accessories at the dealer level. Also, disc brakes on all four wheels might be an exclusive feature for this model.
The Punto Evo T-Jet version will add to the delight of Fiat car fans and enthusiasts as their favourite hatchback will soon be launched in a powerful avatar. With the introduction of this variant, it will not only make the Punto Evo the most powerful hatchback under the Rs 10lakh segment, but will also make it a desirable option for enthusiasts in our country.
