Fiat India is preparing itself to launch the T-Jet versions of the Punto Evo and Avventura for the Indian market. These cars are powered by the T-Jet powerplant which is more powerful than the standard units in the regular models.
The T-jet versions of the Punto Evo hatchback and Avventura hatchback-based crossover will be similar to regular models in terms of design. There will be some minor changes to differentiate the cars from the standard versions. These cosmetic changes might include T-Jet badging and a few tweaks like different pattern for the alloy wheels. The cabin might be equipped with different accessories. Also, disc brakes on all four wheels might be an exclusive feature for this model.
At present the standard cars are available in both petrol and diesel engine options, but power output is less than 100bhp. These T-jet versions will be powered by the same 1.4-litre T-jet mill from the Linea, but will be tuned to generate 135bhp of power. This hike in power is due to a turbocharger. This mill will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Let us hope these vehicles are not priced considerably more than the regular versions. Fiat car fans and enthusiasts will be delighted with the advent of the powerful avatars of the hatchback and the hatchback-based crossover in India soon. They will be offered with these T-Jet versions making them a desirable option for enthusiasts in our country.
