T-jet versions of the Punto Evo and Avventura are being readied for the Indian market. Both the cars are being tested in India and test mules of the same were spotted recently in Pune.
Both the cars, when launched, will be the most powerful versions of their standard counterparts, which are currently available in the Indian market. The new versions will be powered by the 1.4-litre T-Jet engine from their elder sibling - the Linea. This mill has been tuned to generate 135bhp of power, making them amongst the few powerful hatchbacks sold in India. The transmission option will remain the same, meaning the engine will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Apart from the new powerplant under the hood, there are a few changes to the exterior appearance of the cars that will differentiate them from the regular versions. These cosmetic changes include T-Jet badging, alloys with a new design and stickers. Disc brakes on all four wheels might be an exclusive feature for this model.
The regular tests of the Punto Evo T-Jet and Avventura T-Jet hint that Fiat India might soon launch the cars for the Indian market. The cosmetic makeover and powerful engine in these cars will add to the delight of Fiat car fans and enthusiasts. Hopefully, these cars in a new avatar will find a good demand in our country, especially for enthusiasts who have been looking for a powerful hatchback.
