The current generation Fiat Panda has been around for some time now. Available in three variants, Fiat’s city car will receive a minor facelift by the end of this year. Here we have the first images of the Panda Cross undergoing cold-weather testing in northern Sweden.
The test mule, under all the snow and camouflage, is carrying minor and subtle changes. Only visible tweaks are to the headlights, fog lights and daytime running lights. The taillights remain unchanged, but there might be a reworked bumper under the camouflage. The characteristic drilled front bumper seems missing the tow hooks but that could just be under the camouflage. It would be interesting to see what changes the facelift would bring to the Panda’s distinctive C- and D-Pillar.
The powertrain for the facelift would remain the same. The 0.9-litre Twin Air and 1.2-litre petrol engine along with 1.3-litre diesel unit will continue to power the facelifted Panda Cross with the all-wheel drive system. We could even expect a new potent variant added later to the Panda range with a handful of extra equipment and tech on the inside as well.
There are no details of when the updated Panda range would arrive but expect the car to be officially unveiled late this year, perhaps at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
