The Fiat Linea has been around for a quite a while now and finally, Fiat has decided to give it a successor and this will be called the Cronos. It is based on the Argo hatchback that was launched earlier this year.
Spy images and rendering suggest that it will share its basic face elements with the hatchback, but is expected to have some more chrome to help separate both the vehicles. It’s also expected to be longer, wider and far more practical than the Linea.
It appears that Fiat wants a heavy focus on the South American markets and will thus produce the car at their plant in Argentina before starting production elsewhere. With these markets in mind, it is expected to be offered with multiple petrol engines including those that support flex fuel.
The Cronos will be officially unveiled later this year and go into production in early 2018. It is too early to say anything about the Cronos coming to India. But we can be sure that the car would do well enough to revive Fiat’s fortunes in India in the lower segments of the market.
