Fiat has launched another trim of their premium hatchback, the Punto Evo. To be called Pure, it will be the new entry-level trim in the Punto scheme of things and is priced at Rs 5.13 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai.
The Punto Evo Pure is the new base trim and gets power steering with manual air-conditioning. The wing mirrors are internally adjustable and the seats will get fabric upholstery. The cabin is spacious for five and it gets a large 280 litre boot as well. The Punto Pure will be offered only with the 1.2-litre four cylinder FIRE petrol engine which comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and drives the front wheels. The solidly built Punto Evo is also known for its handling characteristics.
Fiat offers the Punto Evo in the Active, Dynamic and Emotion trims as well with the Emotion being the top-spec car. The Pure will be the only trim after Dynamic to get a petrol option while the diesel is available in all trims except Pure. The diesel engine is a 1.3-litre Multijet engine that powers a bunch of cars in the Indian car market including Maruti, Tata and Chevrolet.
