Fiat India has launched the limited edition Punto Sportivo in India starting at Rs 7.1 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The new variant is based on the 1.3-litre Multi-Jet Punto Evo Diesel Active trim that gets additional equipment and accessories.
The Punto Sportivo edition is similar to the standard hatchback and just gets some cosmetic changes. This includes a white coloured roof, Sportivo decals, a chrome garnish on the ORVMs and a rear spoiler. The car rides on 15-inch alloy wheels that get a new design pattern. The pictures also show the side skirts and extensions on the bumpers.
The cabin of the car comes equipped with a 6.5-inch multifunctional touch screen infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The interior also features new seat covers, reverse parking sensors, special mats and door sill with Fiat branding.
There is no change to the mechanicals and the car is only available in the diesel option. This limited edition costs considerably more than the price of the base variant that misses out on all this equipment. However, for this premium price, a prospective buyer gets a unique package with special Fiat branding that adds to the appeal of the car. It should help boost the sales of the Punto Evo with the onset of the festive season.
