Italian car maker Fiat’s Indian subsidiary, Fiat India Automobiles Ltd (FIAL), rolled out the 300,000th car from its Ranjangaon plant in Pune. A joint-venture between Fiat S.p.A and Tata Motors, FIAL also makes and supplies petrol and diesel engines to automobile companies in India like Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors. Last year, the company also achieved the milestone of manufacturing 5,00,000 engines from its facility.
Spokespersons of both partners share that the Ranjangaon facility will continue to produce world class products that demonstrate engineering ingenuity keeping the current market needs in mind. “The manufacturing facility has enabled us to leverage synergetic benefits and will further aid us in tapping the potential that the growing Indian market has to offer.” The facility will also be utilised for manufacturing of some of the new products that will be launched in future by both the partners.
The Ranjangaon facility spread over 200 acres, employs more than 4,000 highly trained personnel. The company also gives a special mention to their employees and says they have contributed immensely to achieve this landmark feat.
Fiat recently launched the Linea facelift and has the Punto facelift, Avventura crossover and the Abarth 500 lined up for launch this year.
