Fiat India, as we know, is busy enhancing its foothold in India with a network of dedicated ‘Fiat-only’ dealerships. The brand has inaugurated yet another of its exclusive dealerships, this time in South Mumbai. Located in Prabhadevi, Esskay Motors features an 8,500 sq ft display area which houses up to three cars.
At the time of the launch of this new exclusive dealership, Fiat India had put up a little treat for the customers and the enthusiasts in the city. Besides the new Linea, the brand is showcasing the all-new Punto-based Aventurra crossover and the mental Abarth 500. While the new Linea has already arrived in the market, the new Aventurra and the Abarth 500 will be launched in the second half of the year.
The dealership was inaugurated by Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and Managing Director of Fiat Chrysler India Operations.
Coming to the Avventura, the vehicle is based on the Fiat Punto and features plastic cladding all around, a tailgate mounted spare wheel and a redesigned body shell to give it a rugged look and set it apart from the hatchback.
The Abarth 500, on the other hand, marks the arrival of Fiat’s high-performance sub brand called Abarth which specialises in tuning small hatchbacks made by the Italian carmaker. The car gets a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine producing close to 160bhp of power. It also gets an array of premium features like sunroof, 17-inch unique alloy wheels, twin exhaust outlets, sports seats, 7 airbags, ABS, EBD and much more.
With both the cars scheduled to go on sale in the second half of this year, Fiat India is sure to bring in a sea change in the premium small car segment, which even today, is a relatively unknown territory mainly because of ludicrous import duties and lack of demand.
