The seven seater MPV, the Fiat Doblo has been caught doing rounds in Pune. Interesting thing is that the car was sans camouflage and was seen sporting a temporary registration number. However, this registration is not at all similar to the ones that Fiat usually uses, making us believe that the vehicle has been imported to India by some private individual.
In some countries, the Doblo is marketed as a family van and in others as a multi-utility vehicle. Because of its big boxy body proportions, the car looks quite different yet simple on the exterior. This car was first introduced in 2000 and has seen many upgrades since. Fiat India has never spoken about this car or about its plan to get it to India and we appreciate their efforts of not doing that. The overall design of the Doblo is something that is not appealing and won’t attract many consumers. It is little identical to the Nissan Evalia whose sales have been miserable.
The Italian giant is concentrating on launching their next products which includes the Punto facelift, the production model of the Avventura and the Abarth 500 that will come to us through completely-built-up (CBU) route.
