Fiat brought the Abarth to the Auto Expo. The first model to wear the badge will be the Fiat 500. It embodies world-class performance and precision, purposeful and aggressive styling, high power-to-weight ratio and limited production volume.
The engine doing the talking under the hood is the 1.4-litre churning out 160bhp and 230Nm of torque and is a turbocharged unit with dual intercoolers. The power available should be more than sufficient for the light three-door car. The handling ought to be better to make good use of all the power on tap and it certainly gets a Koni Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) setup.
There is no official word yet but the Abarth 500 will be launched sometime this year.
