Fiat Brazil has decided to update the looks of the new Uno to mark the arrival of the 1.0-litre and 1.4-litre engines. It may most probably premiere in the second half of 2016, possibly at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show.
While the bumpers can be seen with a new design, the panels have also been retouched to freshen the design cues. The 1.0-litre motor produces 74bhp and a maximum torque of around 97Nm, and the 1.4-litre engine makes 86bhp and 122Nm of torque. The focus on these engines has been to ease the average consumer’s daily driving inputs, taking into account that they hardly cross the 3,500rpm barrier. There are plans to also introduce a 1.4-litre turbo version in the future.
In addition to the engines, the start/stop function which is currently available on only one version will now be extended to all other variants. This compact hatch will have stability control (ESP) and traction control (ASR) as standard on those versions that come with the 1.4-litre engine. However, ESP and ASR will be on the options list for the 1.0-litre variants.
