Fiat India announced their festive season offer with limited editions of their cars, on their official website. The hatchback Punto Evo and the Linea 125S sedan are being offered with a limited edition, christened Karbon and Royal respectively. Both cars are expected to be launched soon.
The cars are offered with minor cosmetic changes which include white body paint scheme and contrasting black finished roof on both the cars. The Linea 125S receives black alloy wheels with a glossy finish and a Royal badging on the rear three-quarter of the car. Whereas the Punto Evo gets a stripped decal running down the side with a Karbon emblem on the same rear three-quarter panel. It’s on the inside where there are noteworthy changes, as both cars are offered with new upholstery. The Linea gets tanned leather upholstery with matching dashboard and door panels. While in the Punto Evo, an all-black theme continues with the black leather seats and dashboard with contrasting stitching while the door panels are completed in beige colour.
The mechanicals of the car will remain unchanged. No further details are released by the manufacturer as far as the pricing or the numbers of special edition units are concerned.
Fiat Linea comes with two petrol and one diesel engine options - the 1.4-litre naturally aspirated, 1.4-litre turbocharged T-Jet petrol and the 1.3-litre Multijet petrol. The naturally aspirated engine has an output of 89bhp and 115Nm of torque, the turbocharged petrol version produces 112bhp and 207Nm of torque while the oil-burner has an output of 93bhp and 209Nm of torque. All the engines are mated to a five-speed manual unit. The Fiat Linea competes with the likes of Nissan Sunny, Tata Manza, Skoda Rapid, Renault Scala, VW Vento, Hyundai Verna, Ford Fiesta and the Honda City.
The Punto Evo gets two petrol engines- a 1.2-litre unit that produces 67bhp and 96Nm of torque and a 1.4-litre unit that produces 89bhp and 115Nm. The diesel unit is the 1.3-litre Multijet exists in two states of tune, a 75bhp/197Nm and a 90bhp/209Nm. All variants are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Fiat Punto rivals the Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and the Honda Jazz.
