He was one of the greatest car designers of the modern era and has been responsible for some of the most beautiful Ferrari designs in the modern era. When Sergio Pininfarina passed away in 2012 at the age of 85, his design house and parent company Ferrari collaborated and came up with the Pininfarina Sergio concept roadster. Now the company has released pictures of the ultra-rare production model which is limited to six units and is already sold out.
The production car for obvious reasons is not as extreme as the concept vehicle but still retains a lot of its design cues from the latter. This includes the fasica as well as the sporty side profile which is dominated by the custom built alloy wheels. However, its connection to the 458 Italia is also very evident thanks to the similarities in the design of the tail lamps and the diffuser section.
The interior has been carried over from the 458 Italia but includes a leather/alacantera trim, red contrast stitching, carbon fibre trim and a flat bottom steering wheel with a Sergio badge at the base. Under the hood is the familiar 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 which, for this car has been tuned to produce 605bhp.
As we had said earlier, the car is already sold out and the model in question is believed to be unit 1 which has been delivered to SBH Royal Auto Gallery in Abu Dhabi.
