- Gets a 2+2 layout with the hardtop-convertible body style
- 0-100kmph in 3.5 seconds, 591bhp of power
Ferrari had launched their all-new grand tourer, the Portofino, in March 2018, earlier this year. Named after the Portofino, a picturesque harbour town in Italy, the new Ferrari has replaced the California T as the V8 grand tourer.
Speaking about Ferraris, the numbers come first and the 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V8 pumps out 591bhp of power and 560Nm of torque catapulting the Portofino to 100kmph in just 3.5 seconds. It is a typical GT with a front engine-rear wheel drive layout and power is delivered through a seven-speed dual clutch transmission that shifts even faster than it did in the California.
The styling, as usual, is evocative and radiates speed even when it is standing still. But, this time, Ferrari has also put in a lot of effort in the interior. The leg-space of the rear passengers has improved by 50mm (who needs that!) and the touchscreen display is now much easier to use. Adaptive suspension and steering make sure you have a comfortable ride as well as all the cornering speed you need across the different driving modes it offers.
The car will be launched in India on 28 September and we expect it to come with a price tag of about Rs 3.5 crores, ex-showroom India. That puts it in the league of the Lamborghini Huracan, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and Bentley Continental GT.
