Ferrari has issued a recall for its V8-engined models California and 458 Italia for a problem with the crankshaft, a part of the engine. A finishing process has gone awry thanks to an incorrectly calibrated machine. This can cause unusual vibrations, which will eventually lead to engine seizure. There haven't been any cases reported yet, but Ferrari is recalling all Californias and Italias built in the last three and a half years - a total of 206 cars. Each owner will receive a letter from Ferrari informing them about the recall - although Ferrari might want to consider calling the customers up and telling them not to stress the engine and pop in to the service center as soon as possible instead.
