Ferrari North America has announced two recalls in separate campaigns for specific 2014-2015 models of the LaFerrari. One recall is related to the seats while the other is regarding the tyre pressure monitoring system.
Ferrari says the first recall for the rectification of the L32 seats is mainly for the headrests replacement. They say that there might be a problem in case of an impact as these headrests might not absorb the required amount of energy. These headrests will be replaced by the company dealers free of cost.
The other recall issued involves the tyre pressure monitoring system, which might display the wrong message in the event of a puncture. The driver might keep driving instead of pulling over in case of such an incident. The company wants to avoid this and is recalling cars to check if the cars do have such a problem. They will update the software of this system to avoid this problem coming up at any point of time.
NTSA said, "In a crash, the headrests of L32 seats may not absorb the required amount of energy. Headrests that do not absorb the required amount of energy can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. The incorrect message may cause the driver to continue driving on a punctured tire, causing loss of vehicle control, and increasing the risk of a crash."
These recalls are a good measure taken by the Maranello based automaker to ensure the safety of their consumers. Both recalls will start by the end of this month and dealerships will contact the individual buyers to make the necessary changes and replacements.
