The Ferrari F150 (codename for the Enzo successor) is likely to begin at a million Euros and that’s not even including taxes! Once the government includes its cut, the lucky 499 people who have been chosen by the Italian supercar maker will have to shell out an additional 210,000 Euros. Production has been ramped-up by an additional 100 units from the Enzo’s 399 in view of growing demand for Ferrari’s in various countries in Asia.
Despite holding a private preview function for potential buyers (which was attend by two Indians), Ferrari has not revealed much about the car. However, we already know that it will be powered by a 6.3-litre V12 engine which in combination with a HY-KERS (Hybrid-Kinetic Energy Recovery System) is expected to produce over 900bhp and close to the same amount in torque. The centrally mounted engine is also expected to get a dual-clutch gearbox and a low-mounted transmission to improve handling.
The interiors will be built around each owner and is expected to be an F1-style cockpit where the driver will sit low down and slightly reclined. Instead of having movable seats, the pedals are expected to move back and forth to compensate.
According to reports, The F150 (name is sure to be changed to avoid a lawsuit with Ford again) will make its global debut on the 5th of March at the Geneva Motor Show. It is expected to compete with the McLaren P1 which will also make its global debut at the same show and this is expected to be a ‘remisecent of F1 in the 1980’s’ Ferrari vs McLaren battle for supercar supremacy.
