The Ferrari auction which we had written about not too long ago has come to a close and the Maranello company has managed to raise a substantial amount from it. The total amount is undisclosed as of now, but the company has revealed that the 599XX Evo car has been sold to an American client for over 1.4 million Euro. The nose cone of the F2008 Formula 1 car that won the constructors' title in 2008 has also sold for 23000 Euro. The engine of the same race car sold for 80000 euro, almost double the reserve price. The nose cone has also been purchased by a resident of the USA but the engine will find its home in the UK. All the other items put up for auction have also been sold, including the helmets of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa and Giancarlo Fisichella's racing suit. A Russian client also donated 100,000 Euro to the cause.
The proceeds of the auction will be sent as relief to those affected by the quakes.
