It’s the fastest grand tourer that the prancing horse makes and is now in India for a rather ‘affordable’ sum of just Rs 5.2 crores. The 812 Superfast looks like it’s always doing 200mph and has enough F1 developed technology to give it a place at the starting grid in Albert Park in two weeks. We usually stick to a standard format when writing this property, but with the 812 Superfast being what it is, we have decided to take a slightly different approach.
What’s good about it?
First and foremost- it’s got that symbol in the front, you know the yellow and black one with the leaping stallion, which means that even standing still, your 812 Superfast is going to grab more eye balls than a troupe of Kardashians out in public.
Then there is the fact that it’s laden to the gills or should we say air vents, with the latest Ferrari F1 technology. This lot now even includes rear-wheel steering, new carbon ceramic brakes and a whole load of aerodynamic aids.
But the one good thing we really like about it is the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine that sits upfront and powers the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. It produces 789bhp/713Nm which is pretty much hype car territory.
What’s bad about it?
It’s too big, too wide and quite impractical as a daily driver. But then again this is the case with most cars in this category and price. If we had to give something, then it would be that the looks are a hate it or love it affair and let’s be honest, 812 Superfast does sound a bit like a local train service that travels from end-to-end only.
