Ferrari has announced that the UK debut of its latest mid-engined V8 supercar, the 488 GTB will be held at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. Additionally, the Italian supercar marquee will also unveil the track-only FXX-K at the venue, with both cars tackling the famous Goodwood Hill Climb.
The 488 GTB is Ferrari’s first mid-engined turbo V8 since the iconic 288 GTO and F40, with a unique engine management system that delivers torque in a controlled manner with zero turbo lag and responsiveness equivalent to a naturally-aspirated V8.
The track-only FXX-K, on the other hand, boasts a blend of V12 engine and hybrid system, with the ‘K’ in its moniker a reference to the “KERS” kinetic energy recovery system. KERS helps in maximising the vehicle’s track performance.
Ferrari has revealed that the 488 GTB will be taking part in the Michelin Supercar Run during the Festival of Speed, alongside four other models: the California T, F12 berlinetta, LaFerrari and the F12 TRS.
