Italian marque Ferrari has launched the 488 GTB supercar in Mumbai at a price of Rs 3.88 crore. The car was first launched recently in New Delhi and has now arrived in Mumbai as well.
The 488 GTB is designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre and retains the clean, pure lines typical of Ferrari’s legendary styling. The GTB in the car's name stands for Gran Turismo Berlinetta while the 488 represents the engine's unitary displacement. The carmaker has made sure every element in the car has a reference to its deep roots in Ferrari history.
The 488 GTB is powered by a 3.9-litre, twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that produces 661bhp of power at 8,000 rpm and 760Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. This power is transmitted to the rear wheels by a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The 488 GTB sprints from 0-100 kmph in just 3 seconds, reaching the 200kmph mark in just 8.3 seconds. The top speed of the supercar is rated at a staggering 330kmph.
The Ferrari 488 GTB makes its way to India exactly a year after it was unveiled globally at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. At present, Ferrari has two dealerships in India, one located in Delhi (Select Cars) and the other here in Mumbai (Navnit Motors).
