BMW India has launched the facelifted X6 for Rs 78.90 lakh (average ex-showroom). The SUV is mainly a cosmetic upgrad and has been given a few extra features. This model was unveiled at this year’s New York Auto Show and is currently on sale in most in the European Markets
Changes on the outside to the 2013 model include a re-designed front grille, headlamps and fog lamps with LED inserts. BMW has re-done the tail lamp cluster and has also given the X6 new 19inch alloy wheels in two separate designs as a standard feature. The interiors are mostly the same apart from revised upholstery and an revised IDrive system.
BMW is now offering the SUV with two exclusive packages; the Innovation package and Luxury package. The former has been aimed at improving driver experience through the use of adaptive headlights, heads-up display and a whole host of driver related applications. The Luxury package, as its name suggests, has been focused on improving comfort and includes features like active seat ventilation and heating.
The BMW X6 will continue to be powered by one petrol and one diesel engine. The petrol is a 4.4-litre eight-cylinder mill that produces 407bhp and 600 Nm of torque. The diesel is a six cylinder 3.0-litre engine that produces 306bhp and 600Nm of torque. Both engines have been mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
