The diesel one is equipped with the e-XDi200 engine (175bhp, Automatic Transmission) or the e-XDi200 Low CO2 engine (150bhp, Manual Transmission) which has better fuel efficiency and lower NVH. The petrol model comes with the e-XGi 2-litre engine with maximum power of 149ps. Some of the newer features include a ventilated driver’s seat and the smart key system. It also has equipment that meets European regulations including DRL (Daytime Running Lights) and TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System). The Korando C has been priced at 19900 Euros (Rs 16.71 lakh) and is currently on sale.
Given that Mahindra owns Ssangyong, we should have got the Korando C quite a while ago. However, Mahindra launched the Rexton SUV for the Indian market last year and it is likely that they will launch the Korando here sometime during this festival season.
