Renault is on a spree to facelift all its major models and is expected to launch all of them at the 2014 Auto Expo. Among these is the Koleos SUV which got a facelift at the Buenos Aires Motor Show and is now expected to make its Indian debut.
The facelifted Koleos gets a new grille, new front bumper, all-new alloy wheels, a seven-inch touch screen infotainment system, new trim colours, rear parking camera and new leather upholstery. It also gets a revised fascia in the form of a smaller Renault grille as well as a redesigned air grille. The side and rear profile remain exactly the same as before with the exception of a new design for the alloy wheels.
However, the surprise is that Renault will now introduce a cut price 2WD version sans quite a few of the luxury options. The 2.0-litre diesel engine now puts out 171bhp/359Nm as compared to the outgoing model’s 148bhp/320Nm. Power is transmitted to all wheels/front wheels via a six-speed automatic and 4WD system or in the case of the latter, a six-speed manual. Reports also suggest that Renault’s premium SUV will get a locally assembled engine in a bid to reduce the cost of the vehicle.
We expect the facelifted Koleos, which will now have variants to be priced in the range of Rs 24 lakh to Rs 27 lakh to be brought into India via the CKD route.
