Porsche will officially launch the facelifted 911 range of cars for the Indian market on June 29. The 911 Carrera Cabriolet, 911 Carrera S, 911 Turbo and the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet are expected to go on sale in our country by the end of this month.
These models have already featured on Porsche India's website and only the prices of these models are yet to be announced. From the 911 line-up, the Carrera 4, 4S and their cabriolet versions, the Targa 4, 4S and Carrera GTS will not be offered in the Indian market. The rest will come to our country through the CBU route.
The Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S come powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged, flat-six mill that churns out 533bhp and 572bhp of power respectively. On the other hand, the Carrera twins are powered by a similar flat-six twin-turbo engine that produces 370bhp in the Carrera Cabriolet and 420bhp in the Carrera S. On the transmission front, we can expect all the engines of the India-bound models to come mated to Porsche's PDK dual-clutch gearbox as standard.
The new range of 911s were revealed in December last year with cosmetic updates and a retuned engine. They were then displayed at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show and will now be finally introduced to the Indian market.
