A facelifted version of the Nissan Micra has been spotted sans camouflage in Thailand. According to Pulsar-Club which spotted the car outside a shopping mall, it had arrived there to shoot a TV commercial and this means its debut is not very far away. The overall shape of the car is pretty much the same but thanks to major revisions to the front and rear the Micra get a refreshed look.
In the front, the facelifted Micra has got a completely new grille, headlamps as well as bumper. The Nissan badge now has a triangular shaped chrome surround and this very similar to the badge seen on the Nissan Extrem concept vehicle.
Nissan has also revised the design of the air dam as well as the fog lamps. The latter has now moved further to edge of the bumper in view of the larger air dam. At the back, the Japanese automaker has redesigned the bumper as well as the tail light cluster. Inside, most of the car will remain the same save for a few upgrades and updates for various bits around the cabin.
The underpinnings and engine line up is expected to remain exactly the same as the current Micra. This means the 1.2-litre petrol engine producing between 56 and 76bhp and 104Nm of torque and the 1.5-litre diesel mill producing 64bhp and 160Nm of torque.
Power is transmitted to the wheels via five-speed manual gearbox. It is likely that Nissan might also offer the facelifted Micra with the X-Tronic CVT gearbox that made its debut in the Indian market with the Scala automatic.
Since India is one of the four locations where the Micra is manufactured, we are sure to be one of the first markets to get the facelifted version when it is launched.
