A facelifted version of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class has been spotted during the shoot of what appears to be its TV commercial. It retains the same overall boxy design as the outgoing model but gets major cosmetic changes all around to give it a fresh appeal. The SUV has been spotted testing on multiple occasions across Europe.
The facelifted M-Class gets a revised facia in the form of a new four slat grille with the three-pointed star as well as new air intakes. It now gets the same headlights as the 2014 S-Class and the 2015 C-Class. The side profile remains the same while the rear end gets a prominent boot lip and metal finish at the base near the exhaust pipes to add to the premium appeal. Reports suggest that this change to the ML will bring it in line with the MLC and the GLA. Interior changes are expected to include revisions to the trim options, new COMAND system as well as a larger infotainment screen.
On the engine front, the ML350 is likely to be replaced by the ML400 which is basically the same upgrade that the German automaker made for the SL-Class. On the diesel front the ML350 CDI with 258bhp/620NM is expected to continue in the market. However, the 7G-Tronic AT box is expected to be replaced by a nine-speed AT box.
