The facelifted Maruti Suzuki SX4 has been spied once again by the crew at Team-bhp and we suspect at a dealership stockyard indicating that the launch of the car is not far away. The car was first spotted testing in Gujarat and then in Bengaluru of which the latter was an uncamouflaged one. The facelifted SX4 is mainly a cosmetic upgrade.
On the outside, the facelifted SX4 gets a new grille, headlamps as well as a new bumper that now includes revised fog lamp housings. In an attempt to give the car a more premium feel Maruti has given the front grille heavy chrome treatment, something should go well with ‘bling-bling’ loving Indian market. The upper variants will most likely get integrated turn indicators in the OVRMs.
The rear end is exactly the same as will be the interiors, save for a few additional features including a GPS (top-end only) and some new upholstery options. The C-segment sedan will continue to be powered by a 1.6-litre petrol mill producing 105bhp and 145Nm of torque or the 1.3-litre turbocharged oilburner producing 90bhp and 200Nm of torque.
Suzuki at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show unveiled the next generation SX4 crossover – a production version of the S Cross concept, this platform is sure to spawn the next generation sedan but that is at least a year away. For now let us look forward to the launch of the facelift that might also seen a slight price revision.
