The facelifted BMW X3 SUV has been launched in Malaysia for 328,800RM (Rs 63.56 lakh). It has got mostly cosmetic changes both on the inside and the outside. The car is being assembled locally via the CKD route and is available with one petrol and diesel engine with the latter being priced at RM 348,800 (Rs 67.30 lakh).
The facelifted X3 gets a re-profiled facia in the form of a new grille, headlights, OVRMs, new alloy wheels and a redesigned rear bumper. Inside BMW has worked on the switchgear, trim levels and instrument cluster. The diesel version now gets a reversing camera, automatic boot opening, paddle shifters and a panorama ic sun roof.
The petrol-powered xDrive20i is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 184bhp and 270Nm of torque while the diesel-powered xDrive20d gets a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that now produces 190bhp and 400Nm of torque as compared to the outgoing model’s 184bhp and 380Nm. Both engines have been mated to the ZF eight-speed AT and the German automaker’s xDrive AWD system.
We in India are expected to get the X3 facelift on August 28 and it will be in two variants the xDrive20d and the xDrive30d. The internal and external changes will be exactly the same as the version on sale in Malaysia. It is expected to be priced Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 more than the outgoing model.
