The facelifted 2013 BMW 5-Series has been revealed by the German magazine Auto Zeitung. The facelifted 5-Series had earlier been revealed via some spy shots that had been circulating among the media in China. BMW has already said that it will unveil the facelifted 5-series on April during the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. Most of the changes to the car are cosmetic and have taken place both in the front and the back.
The front bumper has been revised and now features bigger fog lamps and more chrome detailing. The grille has also been revised and is now similar to what has been featured on the new 3-series that was launched last year
The back is pretty much the same as the previous model save for a new design for the exhaust pipes and a slightly revised rear bumper. The interiors too are expected to get some minor updates and this includes a new infotainment system as well as revisions to the switches and knobs.
Since this is just facelift, we expect that BMW will retain the same set of engines as the previous model. This includes 2.0-litre petrol manual, 2.5-litre petrol, 2.0-litre diesel and both the 3.0-litre diesel and petrol mills.
Since the BMW 5-Series is assembled in India, we expect the facelifted model to reach our shores just a few months after its April debut.
