A facelifted version of the Audi Q5 has been caught testing on the roads of Mumbai. The 2013 Q5 was unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show and will most likely be launched in the country early next year.
The facelift for the new model (codenamed Q5 Product Improvement) includes cosmetic changes as well as a few modifications to the oily bits. In the front, the grille has been revised and now has a hexagonal design. There are new headlights and a new bumper with the former getting an LED treatment. Audi has revised the light cluster at the back along with more LED upgrades. The suspension has been reconfigured; it also gets new electrical power steering system, which replaces the hydraulic system on the older model.
Inside, the German automaker has few changes to the design of the stalks; they now have some extra chrome treatment. The Q5 facelift also has minor revisions to the fabrics of the upholstery and a Q range specific steering wheel.
Under the hood, the engines are expected to remain the same; a 2.0-litre petrol, 2.0-litre diesel (most popular in India) and the top of the range six-cylinder 3.0-litre diesel. All three engines have been tweaked to improve both fuel-efficiency and performance. Some reports suggest that the German automaker will also introduce a 3.0-litre petrol engine.
Since Audi had announced that it would raise its prices from January, there will be a significant increase in the price of the Q5.
